The Mexican Burger $12
Chicken, lettuce, tomato, salsa, guacamole, jalapeños and melted cheese
Well we had planned on eating at The Burger Man but what a disappointment that turned out to be! We rocked up there only to find they no longer exist. So we took a tour through Darlinghurst & got told by a few of the locals to try out the burger joint.
Yes we have been to the burger joint before, but it was the branch down at Potts Point, so wasn’t too keen on eating at another one BUT it seems that we couldn’t escape them today.
I decided on the Mexican chicken burger today. The chicken was a little bit dry, but the salsa mixed with the guacamole actually made up for it and after a few bites you don’t even realise it anymore as the sauce has had time to seep into the meat. The jalapeños of course made all the difference for me since it gives it the burger a spicy flavour (which I like).
I actually think this burger had more of a chili taste to it then the chili beef patty burger (even though their menu advertisers it as being very hot). Although it could just be the jalapenos batch they used was hotter than normal. I would have really loved it if they made the Mexican burger with beef instead of chicken!
My score for this burger 3.5 out of 5
Until next time,

Our quest for the next burger place lead us to Darlinghurst at what we thought would be the ‘Burgerman’ but to our surprise it no longer there. After contemplating where to go next we ended up at Green Park Hotel Darlinghurst which had the ‘The Burger Joint’ burgers on their menu – interesting…
This time I decided to go for the ‘Classic Burger’ with sautéed onions, lettuce, tomato, beef patty with good old tomato sauce on a nice soft bun - which was delicious. Back in March we visited ‘The Burger Joint’ in Potts Point and I’d have to say my comments before and now still stands, with the exception that I’ll give it an extra half a point for a bloody good tasting simple burger.

Now we know why people like the burgers at the Green Park Hotel. The Burger Joint has very limited seating, and they are not licensed, so delivery to the Green Park Hotel is a great idea. The Burger Joint is only a short walk away, so delivery is fast.
As the name suggests, this is a classic burger. The sauce has a very subtle flavour, so subtle that i'm not sure there is any. Sauce or not, their isn't much distraction from the smokey bbq flavour of the patty. It was cooked perfectly.
I didn't want to stop eating this burger.
